LIVESTREAM Polish Semifinals: Tychy Falcons @ Bialystok Lowlanders, Oct. 31, 12:00 CET (06:00 ET)

The Polish Playoffs are back this Saturday as the Bialystok Lowlanders will host the Tychy Falcons in the semifinals. Both teams have had some up and downs this season but are playing for a chance to get into the championship game.

In the regular season these two teams played on October 3rd with the Bialystok Lowlanders winning a shootout 44-32.

Lowlanders go into this game with an impressive 4-1 record. Their only loss of the season came in the last regular season game of the year when they lost to the Wroclaw Panthers 37-13. The Lowlanders showed a lot of heart but overall were dominated by a talented Panthers defense. Bialystok will be looking to bounce back and get another chance at potentially beating the Panthers in the championship! The last time they faced the Tychy Falcons, Lowlanders running back Glen Toonga was unstoppable rushing for four touchdowns and 173 yards. Toonga even played some quarterback after starter Brandon Gwinner  was ejected from the game in the fourth quarter. Brandon Gwinner on the matchup:

“This time around when we play the Falcons we just have to stick to our assignments and do everything correctly. We have to limit turnovers on offense and cause turnovers on defense. If we play like we know how to play, they won’t have a chance”

The Tychy Falcons won their most recent game against the Bydgoszcz Archers with an impressive 30-0 shutout. With that victory, the Falcons captured third place in the playoffs and finished the regular season with a 3-2 record. The duo of German quarterback Niklas Gorny and running back Jan Szwej have been improving all season making the Falcons offense more and more dangerous. Szwej had a big game against the Lowlanders last time they played and is looking for a repeat performance. The Tychy defense will be looking to shut down the Lowlanders running back Glen Toonga who is the currently touchdown leader in Poland. Tychy linebacker David Izinyon on the matchup:

“A fast start from us on offense and defense is necessary. We have to be ready for a dog fight from start to finish. ”

This matchup produced what was maybe the best regular season game in Poland this year. Look for this game to be another high scoring shoot out. The Falcons and the Lowlanders are two really talented teams with some exciting players to watch both domestic and international. Both teams have explosive playmakers and are fired up to be in the playoffs!
