It’s the final week of the regular season in Spain’s LNFA Serie A with the Osos Rivas (5-2) hosting the Murcia Cobras (1-7) in one of four games from Spain on AFI TV.
Both team these teams are on opposite ends of the standings in this matchup. For Osos Rivas, the playoffs await, but for the Cobras, this will be the final game of the 2021 season.

The Cobras go into this game after getting their first win of the season two weeks ago, defeating the Zaragoza Hurricanes 25-22 in a thriller. With 30 seconds left in the game, quarterback Robert Cuda was able to hit wide receiver Ruben Moliner from 12 yards out for the winning touchdown pass. Murica fans were finally able to witness the Cobras celebrating a victory for the first time all season. Look for them to take that momentum into their final game and play hard, in search of that same winning feeling.
Murcia running back Antonio Monton on the matchup with the playoff-bound Osos Rivas:
“Well, we want to show that we are in a good moment, and we want to close the season on a good note. We know it will be a difficult Match, but we will play it as our championship.”
Madrid’s Osos Rivas will be aiming to to stay healthy and in rhythm as they head into the playoffs. Two weeks ago, they beat the Fuengirola Potros 54-13 in a game that featured a breakout performance from running back Mike Gentili. Gentili and the Madrid squad have their playoff seed locked in and nothing that happens this weekend can change their post-season matchup. Osos Rivas will likely find ways to find playing time for much of the roster to help ensure fresh legs for a long playoff run.
That being said the Osos Rivas and Gentili are not taking their opponents lightly:
“We’ve gotta stay focused and make sure we finish out the regular season strong. We know Murcia is a much better team than their record shows, we all saw them take a strong Badalona down to the wire, so we’ve got to keep working to improve this week and end the regular season on a good note.”
Look for an explosive day from the Osos Rivas offense who have been scoring in bunches this season. The visiting Cobras will have to lay it all out on the line for the final time this season in search of their second win.
