In the Spanish League of Football’s Game of the Week, the defending champion Las Rozas Black Demons (2-0) play host to the Osos Rivas (2-0) in a rematch of the 2023 Championship Game.

The Black Demons have opened the season with two straight lopsided wins after beating the Coslada Camioneros 35-6 and the Alcobendas Cavaliers 36-7. Osos Rivas also rolled over the Cavaliers, whipping them 34-6 and then doubling up on the Gijon Mariners, 41-21.

These two teams played each other three times in 2023 with the Black Demons coming out on top all three times. They defeated their crosstown Madrid rivals twice during the regular season 3-2 and 7-0 but then in the title game found some offense coming away with a 22-13 victory to capture their first ever Spanish championship.

The Black Demons are led by quarterback Theo Landers who is returning to action after missing the last game due to an injury. He has potent targets in Emilio Ibáñez and Nolan Coperning while running backs Daniel Romero, who scored twice in the win over the Cavaliers, and Gonzalo Haro anchoring the backfield.

For Osos Rivas, quarterback Russell Tabor tossed four touchdown passes in his team’s victory over the Mariners, each to a different receiver, Ángel Marín, Daniel Salazar, Eduardo Pérez and José Pablo Olivares. Former Potsdam Royal, Ronald Tomasello, anchors the Osos Rivas defense.
