The Stockholm Mean Machines (1-1) will play host to the Uppsala 86ers (0-2) Thursday, June 24 in the final game of the Swedish Superserien regular season.
The Mean Machines are looking to bounce back after being upset by the Örebro Black Knights last week. Stockholm is eager to get back to winning as they prepare for the playoffs and hopefully a chance to reclaim the Swedish title on July 10th.
The 86ers offense is desperate get on the board as they’ve failed to score in two games so far this season. Powerful running back Josh Akena will get plenty of carries as the former national team athlete has a solid combination of speed and strength. On the outside veteran receiver Nico Peterson brings experience, good route running, and versatility to this Uppsala team.

Head coach Fabian Söderberg will have his young squad ready to go again in this short week as they expect to improve on two disappointing performances.
Defensively, Stockholm features defensive back and return man Omar Fall. Look for Fall to score on special teams this week against an inexperienced 86ers team. Stockholm will aim to contain running back Josh Akena with physical linebacker Niko Knoblauch and run stuffing defensive tackle Alexander Kress.
Offensively, former Canadian college football star Brett Hunchak and the rest of the Mean Machines are eager to get back in the win column after last week’s disappointing loss to Örebro. Receiver Matthew Retzlaff and running back Timmy Göransson are two playmakers that make this Stockholm offense fun to watch. Expect Göransson to run wild as the Mean Machines offensive line has the advantage in this one.
The Mean Machines don’t have long to prepare as the post season quickly approaches. This game is a chance for the capital City squad to prepare themselves for a post season run as they look to get back to the pinnacle of Swedish football.
