Warsaw Mets dominate Jaguars in Polish Football League season-opening win
The Warsaw Mets (1-0) kicked off their Polish Football League campaign in impressive fashion, rolling to a 28–6 victory over the Kąty Wrocławskie Jaguars (0-1) behind a powerful ground game and a disciplined defensive effort.
Andrukonis leads the charge
Running back Krzysztof Andrukonis was the standout performer, scoring three touchdowns on runs of 54, 5, and 3 yards. His explosive play set the tone early and consistently kept the Jaguars defense on its heels. A first-quarter safety via a blocked kick further fueled the Mets’ momentum.
Defense contains Jaguars’ attack
Though Kąty Wrocławskie avoided a shutout with a late fourth-quarter touchdown pass from Rafał Rutowicz to Michał Zuziak, the Mets defense largely contained the all-Polish squad’s efforts. Oskar Zarembski added a final touchdown late to seal the comprehensive win.
Strong start to title pursuit
The convincing performance signals Warsaw’s intent to build on last season’s run to the Polish Bowl. For the Jaguars, the match served as a tough introduction to top-flight competition, though their persistence to the final whistle showed promise. The Mets will look to carry this form into their next matchup as they chase an early statement in the PFL standings.
