Myles Garrett was allegedly caught speeding again.
Per multiple local reports, the Browns All-Pro was cited for driving 94 mph in a 70-mph zone on Interstate 71 in Congress Township, Ohio, which sits between Cleveland and Columbus.
The speeding ticket is Garrett’s ninth since he joined the NFL as a rookie in 2017. He survived a rollover crash after flipping his Porsche in 2022, an incident that earned him a citation for driving 65 mph in a 45-mph zone.
In his latest alleged speeding incident, per the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Garrett was pulled over for driving 24 mph over the speed limit in his Porsche around 1:35 a.m. ET on Feb. 21. Brown had attended a college basketball game between Bowling Green and Miami (Ohio) hours earlier in Oxford, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati.
Per the citation, the deputy who pulled Garrett over noted that he was “kind and cooperative.” WKYC in Cleveland reports that Garrett has the option of appearing in court on March 10 or paying a fine of more than $100.
Garrett’s history of speeding in Ohio
Prior to his latest ticket, Garrett was most recently cited on Aug. 9 for driving 100 mph in a 60-mph zone in the Cleveland suburb of Strongsville, Ohio. That incident prompted his eighth speeding ticket and took place on a Saturday morning, a day after the Browns returned home from a preseason road game against the Carolina Panthers. The citation came with a $250 fine.
Garrett declined to address that speeding ticket when asked repeatedly about it by reporters upon his next media availability.
“I’d honestly prefer to talk about football and this team than anything I’m doing off the field other than the back-to-school event that I did the other day,” Garrett said on Aug 20.
When pressed that “people want to know about that,” Garrett again deflected.
“People want to know a lot of things,” Garrett said. “I try to keep my personal life personal. And I’d rather focus on this team when I can.”
Garrett previously sustained a shoulder sprain and biceps strain among other minor injuries in the 2022 crash that took place in September of that year and sidelined him for Cleveland’s Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons. Garrett returned to the field the following week and played the rest of the season en route to earning second-team All-Pro honors.
Garrett, 30, just completed his ninth season with the Browns. A seven-time All-Pro, he earned Defensive Player of the Year honors for the second time after setting the NFL’s single-season sack record with 23. He signed a four-year, $160 million extension with the Browns prior to the 2025 season and is arguably the best defensive player of his generation.
