New rushing, receiving leaders in Sweden as post season closes in

With two regular season games remaining in Sweden’s six team Superserien, there is a new rushing leader as the Örebro Black Knights powerful ground game is becoming apparent. And the Carlstad Crusaders strong passing game has produced a new leader in receiving. Still, the stats lists are dominated by the top four teams, the Örebro Black Knights, Carlstad Crusaders, Stockholm Mean Machines and Uppsala 86ers.

Passing

Carlstad Crusaders QB Philip Juhlin continues to lead the league in Sweden after Carlstad trounced the Stockholm Mean Machines last week and Juhlin had 414 yards passing. He now has 2,194 yards passing and 28 TDs. He finished as the passing leader in 2016 and 2015 as well. Anders Hermodsson of the Stockholm Mean Machines had a poor outing last week but still remains in second with his 1,391 yards in six games. Örebro Black Knights quarterback Corbin Lawler has made some ground up on Hermodsson and  now has 1,222 yards with 17 TDs. Limhamn Griffins’ Danish QB Crhristian Lisby has played well in the past few games and now has 1,124 yards  while Kiernan McDonagh of the Uppsala 86ers is fifth with 612 yards.

Receiving

 Carlstad Crusaders Jacob Dahre  has taken over the receiving lead after several strong games and now has 753 yards and 11 TD catches. Teammate Marcus Johnson has moved up to second with 656 yards while previous leader, Michael Sander of the Stockholm Mean Machines has dropped into third after an injury. He has 582 yards. Another member of the Stockholm Mean Machines receiving corps, Omar Fall,  has picked up slack for Sander and now has 447 yards receiving to place him fourth while Austrialian Blake Marklew from the Uppsala 86ers sits fifth with his 435 yards.

Rushing

Örebro Black Knights leading rusher,  Kasper Wedberg has retaken the lead in rushing after his 109 yard performance against Uppsala last week. Uppsala 86ers speedy running back Victor St Pierre Laviolette has dropped into 2nd with 572 yards. Wedberg’s Black Knights teammate, Marcus Hudritsch is third with 481 yards. The two Carlstad running backs, Victor Toresson and Christian Forsman have 351 and 326 yards respectively to round out the top five.

Tackles

Uppsala 86ers Joshua Akena continues to lead all defensive players with 44 tackles while Jalani Philips of the Limhamn Griffins is second with 39.5.  Newcomer to the list is Tyresö linebacker Erik Rauge who has jumped up into third with his 39 total tackles  Christian Kuylenstjerna of the Carlstad Crusaders is an anchor in the best defense in the league and now has 37 tackles which is good for fourth. Robin Prevolnik of the 86ers has dropped down in fifth but still has 33 tackles.
