Nordic Storm lock down Swedish LB Ludwig Myren through 2026 season

The Nordic Storm have solidified the heart of their defense for the foreseeable future, re-signing Swedish linebacker Ludwig Myren to a contract that will keep him with the team through the 2027 season.

A proven playmaker

Myren has been one of the most productive and disruptive linebackers in the ELF since joining the league in 2022 with the Berlin Thunder. Across 43 career games, the 25-year-old has compiled a staggering 373 tackles, 36 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, three interceptions, and five fumble recoveries—two of which he returned for touchdowns. His impressive 2024 campaign earned him a selection as a 2nd Team All-Star, cementing his status as one of Europe’s premier defensive talents.

From Swedish roots to ELF star

The 6’1”, 214-pound linebacker began his professional career close to home with the Stockholm Mean Machines in the Swedish Superserien. During the 2020 and 2021 seasons, he appeared in nine games, recording 56 total tackles1. His standout rookie performance in 2020 earned him the league’s Rookie of the Year award, setting the stage for his eventual jump to the European League of Football.

Building around a leader

By securing Myren for two additional seasons, the Storm are investing in more than just tackles and sacks. They are retaining a defensive leader and a foundational piece of their identity. Before joining the Storm in 2025, Myren honed his skills with the Thunder, where he was a defensive cornerstone for three seasons. His combination of high football IQ, physicality, and playmaking instinct makes him the ideal centerpiece for a defense looking to contend in the ELF.
