Paris Musketeers sign former Missouri Tigers’ defensive back Cameron Hilton

The Paris Musketeers of the European League of Football (ELF) have signed former NFL, Arena Football League and Missouri Tigers’ defensive back Cameron Hilton for the 2023 season.

Hilton was one of the most highly recruited high school players out of the state of Missouri playing both receiver and defensive back and in 2015, the St. Louis native committed to the Missouri Tigers. In three years with the Tigers, Hilton accumulated 99 tackles, three sacks, four interceptions and 17 pass breakups. Hilton’s impressive college career earned him a spot on the San Francisco 49ers roster for training camp.

Following a short stint in the NFL, Hilton went to play in the Arena Football League, first with the Duke City Gladiators and then the Frisco Fighters. Again, Hilton’s superb coverage skills and elite athleticism led to him excelling. Over two years, the rangy defender totaled 35 tackles, seven interceptions and 14 pass breakups.

Hilton is taking the Musketeers final American import spot but it appears to be a match made in heaven with head coach Marc Mattioli having coached defensive backs with both Vanderbilt – a former rival of the Tigers – and Stanford prior to Covid-19.
