Poland: Łódź Wilki run wild over Lublin Tytani in season opener
The Łódź Wilki (1-0) stormed into Lublin and delivered a powerful 34-14 victory over the Lublin Tytani (0-1) behind a huge day from quarterback Damian Podczaski, who was named the Polish Football League‘s Week 1 MVP.
Podczaski dominates on the ground
The Wilki offense was fueled early by the legs of Podczaski, who punched in three first-half rushing touchdowns from 10, 4, and 18 yards out. His aggressive play gave Łódź a commanding 20-0 lead before halftime, setting the tone for a confident road performance.
Tytani answer, but Wilki pull away
Lublin showed fight in the second half with two rushing scores from quarterback Denis Batistella Jr., but each time the Wilki responded. A massive 82-yard touchdown pass from Podczaski to Michał Podobieński and a late goal-line plunge by Podobieński sealed the decisive 34-14 win, proving Łódź’s offense can strike in multiple ways. The Wilki defense also deserves credit for containing Lublin’s attack and making key stops when it mattered most.
