Poland: Tychy Falcons sign quarterback Gabriel Losada

The Tychy Falcons of the Polish Football League have signed quarterback Gabriel Losada for the remainder of the 2021 season.

The currently undefeated (3-0) Falcons have brought in Losada to replace Jules St. Ge, who suffered a season-ending injury in their last game. Losada will take the reins of an offense that is currently averaging 33 points per game. Tychy’s new quarterback brings experience from Spain and France, having most recently played for the Cannes Iron Mask in 2020.

Losada explains why he chose to join the Falcons:

“Tychy was I believe the best team on tape. We have a great wide receiver corps and Coach Kolek is one of the best to do it Europe. He has a bright mind when it comes to the offensive side of the ball. With that leadership from the top and the talent the Falcons have, it was hard to pass up!”

In 2018, the 5-11 190 pound quarterback helped the Osos Rivas to a 7-1 record in Spain’s top league, reaching the semifinals. The following year, Losada lead the Cannes Iron Mask in France to a third division championship, elevating them to the country’s second league. In 2020, he returned to Cannes only to have the season cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Before entering Europe’s American football scene, the 24-year-old was an All-State quarterback for St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He then played one season of community college football at nearby Scottsdale Community College before eventually finding his way overseas.
