PREVIEW: GFL – Allgau Comets @ Munich Cowboys (4p CEST, 10a EDT)

Allgau Comets and Munich Cowboys look to get on winning track in Bavarian derby in Munich

The Allgäu Comets (0-1)  will play their second regular season game against their in-state rivals Munich Cowboys. The Cowboys (0-3) are trying to bounce back from a 57-20 loss against the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, but the hosts are in “win-now-mode” too after losing three games already this season. The Comets are motivated to repeat their huge victory in Munich from last year and travel almost completely healthy to the Bavarian state capital.

Comets head coach Brian Caler,

“This is an absolutely must win game for us. We don’t care what happened the last couple of weeks; we must be absolutely focused on playing on a high level. The Cowboys are in a bit of an advantage because they have already played two more games than us, thus already being in rhythm and minimizing their mistakes. If we play on our level and avoid errors and penalties, we have a great chance to win this game”

Quarterback Dylann Rauch joins Munich and head coach Garren Holley. Rauch is from Wisconsin and played his college ball at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. After college, the 24-year-old athlete played in the Polish PLFA Topliga for Husaria Szczecin.

“We have reacted quickly in signing Dylan and are working to support him so the Munich Cowboys can win. The club’s leadership as well as the coaches have done an excellent job and and this is an optimal solution. Dylan will strengthen and continue to improve our options,” said Cowboys President Werner L. Maier.

This new addition is comes just in time for the Bavarian Derby in the Munich’s Dantestadion. Kickoff is 4:00 pm CEST.
