R.I.P. Christophe Briolin 1970 – 2020

We are saddened to announce the passing of Christophe Briolin, a key member of the La Courneuve Flash organization and former player for the club.

Briolin passed away suddenly this past Saturday, May 2, 2020.

Christophe “Brioche” Briolin played offensive line for the Flash from 1999 to 2006 but even after he hung up his cleats he remained a highly active member of the club most recently as a director of the management committee. He had also served on the board of the French Federation of American Football, FFFA, (Fédération Française de Football Américain). He also played for the Berlin Adler in the German Football League in the late 1990s.

Bruno Lacam-Carom, president of the Flash:

“Above all, Christophe was one of the main assets for all of our international development and was present at every European meeting. He had friends on every continent.”

Former teammate Franck Lacuisse:

“He was a great human being, always ready to help or answer anyone’s questions. He had time for everyone no matter who they were or what they did.”

The Flash wrote on their website:

“With his 12 languages mastered, his hundreds of professional as well as football journeys and his natural ability to make contact with people all over the planet, he was one of the leading figures in the global network that Le Flash was able to create and an exemplary conciliator for the association’s sporting and festive events.”

Christophe Briolin’s family has set up a GoFundMe account for anyone to donate to help with funeral expenses. The instructions are in French but simply by clicking on “Je Participe” you can donate.
