Raiders Tirol reinstated by European Football Alliance for 2026 ELF season
The European Football Alliance (EFA) has officially reinstated the Raiders Tirol as a full member franchise, confirming the storied Austrian club’s return to the European League of Football (ELF) for the 2026 season.
Back in the fold
By rejoining the EFA, the Raiders secure their place within the league’s new governance structure. This includes equal access to the EFA’s ownership stake, participation in revenue surplus, and a seat on the Team-Led Board of Governors. As one of Europe’s most established organizations, the Raiders Tirol strengthen a coalition of proven teams already confirmed from Germany, France, Spain, Czechia, and the Nordics.
Strategic expansion continues
The EFA also confirmed that member franchises in the United Kingdom and Italy are fully integrated into the Board of Governors and are preparing for a planned launch in 2027. This timeline allows both organizations to ensure they are fully capitalized and operationally ready for a successful debut.
Building a stronger league
In a joint statement, the EFA Board of Governors emphasized that the league is focused on building a coalition of well-managed franchises defined by active front offices, complete rosters, and sustainable business models. While the EFA remains in dialogue with additional ownership groups in Germany, Poland, and Switzerland, any new teams must meet rigorous financial and operational standards before admission. The 2026 schedule is currently being finalized with a focus on competitive balance among Europe’s top organizations.
