Spanish National League of American Football kicks off

The Spanish National League of American Football, LNFA (Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano) kicks off January 14 with a total of 10 teams vying for the title.

In the 2022 championship final, Madrid’s Osos Rivas captured their first title since 2001 by defeating the Laz Rozas Black Demons 28-12. Both teams will play in the same conference this season.

The LNFA West conference consists of the following teams: the defending champion Osos Rivas, along with the Gijon Mariners, the 2022 finalists, Las Rozas Black Demons, and newly promoted Coslada Camioneros and Alcobendas Cavaliers. Two teams dropped out of the top division, the Murcia Cobras and Fuengirola Potros.

The East conference is made up of the Badalona Dracs, Zaragoza Hurricanes, L’Hospitalet Pioners, Mallorca Voltors and the newly promoted Valencia Firebats. The Barberà Rookies have dropped down.

Each team will play eight games, one home and one away against each team in their own conference.

The semifinals are scheduled for the weekend of April 15 with the championship final on April 29.
