Swarco Raiders sign former Georgia State DB Dartez Jacobs

The Swarco Raiders of the European League of Football (ELF) have signed former Georgia State (DI, FBS) defensive back Dartez Jacobs.

Jacobs enjoyed a two-year letter winning career at Georgia State at safety, appearing in all 13 games during the 2015 season.

The veteran safety is coming off an excellent season with the Cologne Centurions who reached the ELF semifinals in the league’s inaugural season. In eight games – and the semifinal – he amassed 43 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, seven pass breakups, three forced fumbles and one blocked field goal, proving his pedigree.

Jacobs began his international football career in China in the AFU New Year China Bowl, Shenzhen. After the exhibition game Jacobs made a move to the more established GFL with the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions.

But it was in 2018 with the Kirchdorf Wildcats (GFL1) that the 6’1″, 208-pound defensive back really began to show what he was made of. As team captain, the Atlanta, Georgia native racked up 92 tackles, four interceptions, four tackles for loss and 13 pass breakups.

The 28-year-old will now be joining the newly appointed ELF team, the Swarco Raiders. Two Austrian powerhouses – the Raiders and the Vienna Vikings – will be joining the league with much expectation after years of European dominance.
