OrientalBio Silver Star vs. IBM BIG BLUE
Still looking for their first win, OrientalBio faces another difficult assignment at Fujitsu Stadium Kawasaki.
The Silver Star fell to 0-6 after Fujitsu exploded for 29 first-quarter points on the way to a 49-7 victory. Two early interceptions helped turn the game into a rout before halftime.
IBM is trying to rebound from a 37-23 loss to defending champion Panasonic. BIG BLUE fell into a 17-0 hole but fought back in the second half before the Impulse pulled away. Reece Horn remains one of the league’s most dangerous receivers and has moved to the top of the X League receiving race.
Panasonic Impulse vs. Nojima Sagamihara Rise
Something has to give at Tsurumi Ryokuchi Stadium.
After opening 0-2, defending champion Panasonic has won five straight. The latest was a 37-23 victory over IBM, with the Impulse scoring 17 points in less than six minutes early in the game.
The Rise have produced a turnaround of their own. Nojima Sagamihara has won three straight after beating Tokyo Gas 17-7, rushing for 145 yards and converting seven of 10 third downs.
Victor Mitchell continues to lead the Panasonic ground game and sits atop the league rushing standings, setting up an intriguing battle between two teams increasingly comfortable winning on the ground.
Fujitsu Frontiers vs. All Mitsubishi Lions
The Frontiers made emphatic work of their Round 7 assignment, overwhelming OrientalBio 49-7 after racing out to a 29-0 first-quarter lead.
Quarterback Tsubasa Takagi continues to lead the X League passing race, and Fujitsu has now won three straight since its loss to Obic.
Waiting at Fujitsu Stadium Kawasaki are the All Mitsubishi Lions, who face another major test against one of the league’s most productive offenses.
SEKISUI Challengers vs. Obic Seagulls
The final Round 8 matchup sends the SEKISUI Challengers against the Obic Seagulls at Tsurumi Ryokuchi Stadium.
Obic remains the league’s only unbeaten team. The Seagulls’ previous scheduled game against Fujifilm Ebina was awarded as a 1-0 forfeit, meaning they return to the field after an extended break.
For SEKISUI, the challenge is converting competitive performances into a breakthrough result. The Challengers pushed Fujitsu to the limit in their last outing, leading 17-10 before the Frontiers rallied for a 20-17 win.
Round 8 therefore brings together two of the league’s hottest teams in Panasonic and Nojima Sagamihara, gives Fujitsu another opportunity to keep pressure on unbeaten Obic, and finally puts the Seagulls back on the field as the Fall Series heads toward its decisive stretch.
