Italy: Ancona Dolphins sign Harvard and Monmouth linebacker Jake Brown

The Ancona Dolphins of the Italian Football League (IFL) have signed Monmouth (NCAA, DI) linebacker Jake Brown for the 2024 season.

Brown, a 6’1″, 230 pound native of Newton, New Jersey has excelled academically since the beginning of his collegiate football career with three years at Harvard (NCAA, DI) prior to enrolling at Monmouth as graduate student. Over three years at Harvard, Brown totaled 58 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, one forced fumble, and two passes defended – most of these coming in his final year. For his efforts, Brown was named to the Honorable Mention All-Ivy League.

In 2023, Brown enrolled at Monmouth and exploded onto the football scene. In one full season he racked up 72 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one interception. In addition to a stand out football season, Brown was also named to the Spring CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.

Brown will be taking the third and final import spot for the Ancona Dolphins who narrowly missed out on an Italian Bowl appearance last year. He will be joining long-time import  quarterback Collin DiGalbo and former Elon University (NCAA, DI) safety Bo Sanders.
