AFI.tv features playoffs and key matchups

With playoffs in Finland’s Maple League and key positional games in both the Danish Nationalligaen and the German Football League, AFI.tv promises an exceptional weekend of football starting Friday night in Finland.

Friday, September 3

The Finnish playoffs kick off as the first-place and defending champion Kuopio Steelers take on the fourth place Seinäjoki Crocodiles in the Maple League semifinals, September 3 at 17:30 CET (5:30 pm, 11:30 am ET).

Saturday, September 4

The Copenhagen Towers and Søllerød Gold Diggers will tangle Saturday, September 4 to decide first place in Denmark’s Nationalligaen. Both teams have 4-1 records but the Gold Diggers defeated Copenhagen in their only other meeting this year. Game time is September 4 at 19:00 CET (7 pm, 1 pm ET).

The Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns (9-0) will be looking to stay unbeaten when they face the Stuttgart Scorpions (1-8). The Unicorns pummeled Stuttgart 82-0 the last time they met earlier in the season. Kickoff is September 4 at 17:00 CET (5 pm, 11:00 am ET).

In the second semifinal in Finland’s Maple League, the second place Helsinki Roosters (6-2) will host the third-place Porvoo Butchers (5-3). The Roosters won both games against Porvoo during the regular season, 42-14 and 39-35. Kickoff is Saturday, September 4 at 17:30 CET (5:30 pm, 11:30 am ET).

The Braunschweig New Yorker Lions (5-4) and Cologne Crocodiles (5-4) will face each other on September 4 at 18:00 CET (6 pm, 12 noon ET) to decide third and fourth places in the German Football League. The Lions won the first game between the two teams, 43-28.

The Munich Cowboys (5-4) need a win against the Allgäu Comets (6-2) in the final game of the regular season to have a chance to make the final playoff spot in the GFL South. Kickoff is September 4 at 17:05 CET (5:05 pn, 11:05 am ET). The game is shown on Sport1 and only available to viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Sunday, September 5

The Ravensburg Razorbacks (5-4) travel to Saarbrücken, Germany to take on the Saarland Hurricanes (7-2) in a game that could decide if the Razorbacks qualify for the fourth and final playoff spot in the GFL South. If the Munich Cowboys win against the Comets, then Ravensburg needs a victory in this game. Game time is September 5 at 15:00 CET (3 pm, 09:00 am ET).

The Marburg Merenaries (2-7) and Frankfurt Universe (0-8) square off Sunday, September 5 at 16:00 CET (4 pm, 10:00 am ET). Marburg won the first game between the two teams, 42-12.

In one of the biggest games of the weekend, the Dresden Monarchs (8-1) will battle the Potsdam Royals (7-2) for first place and the top seed in the GFL North. Dresden beat the Royals 31-15 in the first game between the two. Kickoff is September 5 at 15:00 CET (3 pm, 09:00 am ET).
