Aleksander Milanovic Returns To Austria’s Vienna Vikings

Massive offensive lineman Aleksander Milanovic (6’7″, 305 lb) is returning to his roots with Austria’s Vienna Vikings after spending  five years playing college football, including four at Sacramento State (NCAA Div I).

He totaled 33 career starts with Sacramento State and started every game during the 2014 season. He was named 3rd team All-Conference at the conclusion of 2014 season. In 2013 he started 10 of 11 games in 2013 while in 2012 started in 10 games while seeing action in all 11 games. He spent his senior year in the 2015 season at Adams State with the Grizzlies.

After not getting drafted in the 2016 NFL Draft, his dream of playing in the NFL has eluded him it seems for the time being and he decided to return to Europe to play. He received offers from a number of German teams but turned them down:

” I’d rather go back to the club where it all began.”

Since September he has been training again. The last time he put a Vienna Vikings uniform on was 2011. In fact, he played seven seasons (2005-11) in the Vienna Vikings program in the Austrian Football League. He started at tackle during his last four season and played for the senior team in 2009 and 2010 where he was the starting right tackle.

Milanovic was named to the all-star team at the 2008 European Junior Championship. He also competed in the Team World vs. Team USA U-19 game in Austin, Texas, in 2011.

He played in an Arena Bowl game in early November in Vienna and is excited about the prospects of playing with the Vikings again:

“I am really looking forward to the coming season with the Vikings, as a lot has changed in the last five years. My expectations are to help the team return to the top of Europe. I see it as a challenge in Austria to play because I now have to prove again.”
