Belgium: Jaycen Taylor’s Limburg Shotguns stay unbeaten

The Limburg Shotguns (4-0) cruised to their fourth straight victory this past weekend in shutting out the Charleroi Coal Miners 40-0 in Belgian American Football League action.

The Shotguns took the lead early and then never looked threatened with quarterback Alex Jodlauk  looking impressive in his first start of the year, throwing three touchdown passes and using his legs to score another. Jaycen Taylor, former Finnish Maple League MVP and All European running back, who also serves as head coach, added a touchdown and Michael David had another strong running game scoring a touchdown of his own. Wide receivers Tim Muller, Quinten Agten and Micheal Kaffee all caught touchdown passes.

This is Taylor’s second season in Belgium with the Shotguns. When the Euro veteran announced his intention to move to Belgium and play for the Limburg Shotguns, he caught many people by surprise. He had just helped the Helsinki Roosters win their sixth title in Finland and was named MVP of Finland’s Maple League.

With the win, the Shotguns move out into first place in the Belgian league, just ahead of the defending champion Brussels Black Angels, who are also undefeated with a 3-0 record. Limburg returns to action on April 13 when they face the Ostend Pirates at home in Beringen Mijnstadion.
