Free college football worth staying in for this Saturday
Five games for 24 October, with a heavyweight rushing showdown, a Wisconsin scrap and a little Texas upset potential. All free to watch, all kicking off between 18:00 and 21:00 in Europe.
There is plenty of money changing hands in college football. Fortunately, watching it does not always require some of yours. Our weekly trip down the divisions returns with five games for those who still enjoy football for football’s sake. We can leave the billion-dollar business for Sundays.
This week we are looking for games that might still be games in the fourth quarter. No promises, of course. But there are better reasons to open these streams than simply liking the helmets. And for the coaches watching from this side of the Atlantic, consider it a scouting afternoon. You never know where the next import might turn up.
All games are on Saturday, 24 October 2026. Kickoff times are CEST. The clocks go back on Sunday, so resist the temptation to adjust these a day early.
Southwestern at Friends
NAIA | 20:00 CEST | Southwestern 6–1; Friends 7–0
Watch free on the Friends KCAC Network channel
Here is the one to build the evening around. No. 7 Friends averages 444.1 rushing yards per game. No. 23 Southwestern allows 68.9. Those two figures are about to have a rather uncomfortable conversation in Wichita.
The unbeaten Falcons have been scoring at 63.4 points per game, with several runners sharing the damage. Southwestern arrives on a four-game winning streak after beating Sterling 31–10. Its defense allows just 14.6 points per game and has forced 19 turnovers. This is a substantial test of what Friends has been doing to everyone else.
Builders running back Christian Steward has 810 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 7.8 yards per carry. If Southwestern can sustain drives and keep that Falcons offense watching, we should have something worth our time.
Why watch: A ranked matchup with a clear tactical argument. Can one of the NAIA’s best run defenses slow its most productive ground attack? Select the Southwestern game on Friends’ official broadcast channel.
UW–La Crosse at UW–Stout
Division III | 20:05 CEST | Both teams 3–3
Watch free on the UW–Stout WIAC Network channel
Yes, Wisconsin has rather more football than the Badgers and Packers. And a 3–3 record in this company needs a little explanation before being dismissed.
Stout lost 31–27 to Platteville and 37–31 to Whitewater. La Crosse’s three defeats came against Saint John’s, Hardin-Simmons and Whitewater, by a combined 17 points. That is a fairly unforgiving way to collect a .500 record.
La Crosse beat Stevens Point 44–10 last weekend, while Stout again pushed Whitewater close. Both have shown they can live with strong opposition; now they get each other in Menomonie.
Why watch: My best bet for a competitive fourth quarter, without actually suggesting anybody place a bet. The host lists the precise kickoff at 13:05 Central, hence 20:05 here. Regular-season WIAC broadcasts are free.
Shepherd at East Stroudsburg
Division II | 19:05 CEST | Shepherd 5–2; East Stroudsburg 6–1
Watch free through ESU’s official Watch the Warriors page
Shepherd edged this meeting 26–23 last year. East Stroudsburg has been making a persuasive case that the return fixture will be different, winning four straight and outscoring those opponents 159–20.
Quarterback Matt Machalik threw four touchdown passes in last weekend’s 47–7 win over Shippensburg. Shepherd, meanwhile, needs to recover from a 27–21 defeat to Bloomsburg. The Rams managed only 214 yards in that game, so getting the offense back on the field and keeping it there would be a useful start.
Why watch: Two winning programs with something at stake in the PSAC. East Stroudsburg deserves to be favored, but Shepherd has already beaten Frostburg State and California this season. The official game listing points to ESU’s streaming page, with free PSAC coverage.
Blinn at Trinity Valley
JUCO | 21:00 CEST | Blinn 4–4; Trinity Valley 6–1
Watch free on TSBN Sports — Blinn at Trinity Valley
Our Texas stop comes with an actual game-specific broadcast, which is always preferable to hoping somebody’s YouTube channel springs to life. TSBN has this one posted from Bruce Field in Athens, with its free player and coverage starting at 20:55 Amsterdam time.
Trinity Valley is unbeaten in conference play at 6–0 and deserves the favorite’s billing. Blinn, however, has spent October making people stay until the end: a 20–14 win over Snow, a 20–16 victory at New Mexico Military Institute and a 45–42 double-overtime loss to Cisco last Saturday.
Why watch: This is the upset watch rather than the safest close-game pick. The Buccaneers have won two of their last three and shown they can survive a tight finish. Now they must do it against the conference leader. European coaches looking beyond the usual recruiting stops could do worse than spend some time with Texas junior-college football.
Arkansas–Pine Bluff at Florida A&M
FCS | 21:00 CEST | Arkansas–Pine Bluff 3–3; Florida A&M 2–5
Homecoming in Tallahassee supplies the occasion. The football may be more competitive than Florida A&M’s record initially suggests. The Rattlers beat Alabama State 28–27 earlier this month; Pine Bluff lost to the same opponent 21–15 last weekend.
Common-opponent arithmetic is hardly an exact science, but it gives us a reasonable starting point. FAMU followed that win with a 27–17 loss at Jackson State. Both teams could use a Saturday that ends with something to celebrate.
Why watch: A plausible close game and the atmosphere of an HBCU homecoming. If the broadcast gives us the band, that is a bonus worth keeping the sound on for. FAMU confirms a 15:00 Eastern kickoff and directs viewers to HBCU GO’s free live channel.
Five games, no subscription required. Pick a screen, give a team you barely knew last week a chance, and enjoy the football. Finding your next quarterback is optional.
