Sweden: Carlstad Crusaders blank AIK 51-0 in dominant display

The Carlstad Crusaders (4-0) remained undefeated after crushing AIK (0-4) 51-0 in a rainy matchup at Sola Arena this past weekend. The Crusaders displayed their offensive strength and solid defense, leaving AIK struggling to find their footing throughout the game.

Strong start sets the tone

AIK began the game with some momentum, but their first drive ended in a turnover on downs. The Crusaders quickly capitalized, as De’Anta Sipp recovered a fumble and scored an 11-yard touchdown to put Carlstad on the board. As the second quarter began, Jackson Erdmann connected with Albin Forsman for a 1-yard touchdown, extending the lead to 14-0.

Offensive explosion

The Crusaders continued to pull away, scoring 35 points in the second quarter alone. Sipp broke free for a stunning 73-yard touchdown run, followed by a 15-yard touchdown pass from Erdmann to Anton Jansson. Erdmann then found Pierre-Giovanni Medjeber for a 3-yard touchdown, capping off a dominant first half with a 35-0 lead.

Defense shines

The second half saw the Crusaders maintain their momentum. Erdmann threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Rory Kelly, and Christopher Helgar added a 37-yard field goal. The scoring concluded with a 29-yard touchdown pass to Lukas Kullstrand, bringing the final score to 51-0. The Carlstad defense was relentless, allowing only 80 yards and forcing three fumbles, with Elias Rosenqvist earning MVP honors for his performance.

On the offensive side, Jackson Erdmann threw for 210 yards and 4 touchdowns, while running back De’Anta Sipp rushed for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns. Teodor Vanberg was the leading receiver with 3 catches for 87 yards. Meanwhile, AIK struggled offensively, with quarterback Oleksandr Voloshkin completing 6 of 11 passes for just 47 yards. Running back Lukas Sjöström was held to 20 yards on 9 carries, and Joshua Hicks caught 2 passes for 28 yards.

With this impressive win, the Crusaders look ahead to their next challenge against the Stockholm Mean Machines on May 16.
