CEFL Tournament kicks off this weekend

The 20th edition of the Central European Football League (CEFL) tournament is set to begin this weekend with two exciting first round matchups. On Saturday, two Serbian teams clash as the Kragujevac Wild Boars will host the Belgrade Blue Dragons, while on Sunday, Great Britain’s Bristol Aztecs will take on the Belfast Trojans from Ireland.

Saturday, April 25, 14:00 CET (2 pm, 8 am ET)

Belgrade Blue Dragons @ Kragujevac Wild Boars

The Wild Boars, who captured the CEFL Cup in 2023, are looking to bounce back after a tough exit in last year’s tournament. Last season they defeated their Serbian rivals, Vukovi Belgrade, in the opener only to be shut out by Switzerland’s Calanda Broncos next. The Blue Dragons are no easy opponent, returning to the CEFL after a nine-year absence and coming off a strong season in the Serbian national league. This matchup promises to be a battle of wills as both teams aim to establish themselves early in the tournament.

Sunday, April 26, 14:30 CET (2:30 pm, 8:30 am ET)

Belfast Trojans @ Bristol Aztecs

On Sunday, the Aztecs will face the Trojans in a clash of champions. The Aztecs, who captured the British title in 2025, had a solid inaugural season in the CEFL, reaching the quarterfinal round where they lost to Sweden’s Carlstad Cruaders, are looking to build on their success with a strong offensive lineup. Meanwhile, the Trojans, newcomers to the CEFL, are riding high with a perfect 3-0 record in the Irish national league. This matchup will showcase the best of British football and is sure to be a thrilling contest.
