Czech Republic: Brno Sigrs sign top NCAA QB Quentin Williams

The Brno Sigrs, who play in the Czech League of American Football, CAAF, have signed the NCAA’s (FCS) top rated passer in 2015, Quentin Williams from Bethune Cookman University.

The Sigrs finished the 2019 season in the CAAF with a 5-5 record.

Williams spent the 2019 season with the Lubeck Cougars of the GFL2 leading the team to a 10-4 record and second place in the GFL2 North, after throwing for 2,714 yards and 26 touchdowns and rushing for 631 yards and another 17 touchdowns. In 2018, in a backup role with the Hamburg Huskies he threw for 649 yards.

The 26-year-old, 6′, 205 lb native of Tampa, Florida, Williams spent the 2017 season with the Cineplexx Blue Devils (Austria) and the Turkish champion Istanbul Koc Rams. With the Rams, Williams threw for 2,621 yards and 35 touchdowns and was earned the Turkish Football League’s Most Valuable Player award.

At Bethune Cookman, Williams finished his final regular season as the FCS (Football Championship Subdivision) leader in passing efficiency (187.2), third in passing yards per completion (16.45), tied for 23rd in passing touchdowns (19), tied for 39th in points responsible for (134), 40th in passing yards (2,171), tied for 40th in points responsible per game (12.2) and 46th in passing yards per game (196.9).
