ELF: Fehérvár Enthroners sign former University of New Mexico and Northwestern State receiver Jay Griffin IV

The European League of Football’s (ELF) newest addition, the Fehérvár Enthroners, have signed former University of New Mexico (NCAA, DI FBS) and Northwestern State (NCAA, DI FCS) receiver Jay Griffin IV to fill their final US spot for the 2023 season.

Griffin lettered for three seasons at New Mexico where he caught 63 passes for 679 yards and four touchdowns while adding another 137 yards on the ground. In addition to this, he ran the 200 meters and 4×400 meters for the Lobos track team. His prowess as a sprinter led to him being named to the Mountain West All-Conference Outdoor Team in the 200 meters in 2019.

Following his 2020 season at New Mexico the 5 ‘10, 170-pound speedster transferred to the FCS for a year with the Northwestern State Demons. In his lone season with the team he started all 11 games and led the team in receptions (50), receiving yards (548) and tied for the team lead in touchdowns (five).

Griffin will now be joining a team already sporting one of the most athletic and electric players in ELF last year, quarterback Gabriel Cunningham. If Head Coach Jaime Hill can find a way to protect and utilize the two, the Enthroners offense will be tough to handle.
