Full weekend of action as Spanish National League of American Football passes midpoint

The Spanish National League of American Football heads into its eighth weekend of play with four games on tap.

Madrid’s Osos Rivas (3-2) will try to hold onto their second place in the West Division when they take on the visiting Gijon Mariners (1-3) on Saturday March 4. Meanwhile, on a busy Sunday, the 2-3 Zaragoza Hurricanes will play host to the unbeaten Badalona Dracs (4-0) in an East Division contest and the L’Hospitalet Pioners (1-4) will travel to Valencia to face the Firebats (1-4). Finally, back in the West, the Coslada Camioneros (2-3) are at home to the undefeated Las Rozas Black Demons (5-0).

Saturday, March 4

Gijon Mariners (1-3) @ Osos Rivas (3-2)

The Gijon Mariners will be attempting to avenge an opening game 16-3 loss to the Osos Rivas when they pay a visit to Madrid today. Osos Rivas needs a win in this game today to help secure a playoff spot.

Sunday, March 5

Badalona Dracs (4-0) @ Zaragoza Hurricanes (2-3)

The Zaragoza Hurricanes will be looking to snap the Badalona Dracs four game winning streak when they welcome them to Zaragoza, located just under three hours from Barcelona. The Dracs only beat Zaragoza 13-0 in the season opener so this game could be closer than their respective records suggest.

L’Hospitalet Pioners (1-4) @ Valencia Firebats (1-4)

The Firebats will be trying to avenge an opening game 37-15 loss to L’Hospitalet when the two teams, who are mired in the basement of the East Division, face each other in Valencia on Sunday.

Las Rozas Black Demons (5-0) @ Coslada Camioneros (2-3)

The Camioneros will be trying to avenge a close 14-7 opening game loss to Las Rozas when they play host to them Sunday at noon. They will also be trying to end the Black Demons five game winning streak while also trying to gain some ground on the second place Osos Rivas for the playoff spot.
