Germany: Cologne Crocodiles sign Japan veteran All American CB Emory Polley

The Cologne Crocodiles, German Football League quarterfinalists in 2018, have bolstered their secondary with the signing of All American cornerback Emory Polley who spent three seasons in Japan’s XLeague.

Polley, who was an American Football Coaches Association First Team All American at Brown University (2015), spent three seasons with the Panasonic Impulse in the Japanese XLeague, helping Panasonic win their seventh title in 2015.

The 5’9″, 185 26 year old Polley, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, was a three-year starter at Brown and in his final two seasons finished with 68 tackles and 10 interceptions.

Polley led the nation with six interceptions in 2013 (0.6 per game) and finished his Brown career with 11 interceptions, sixth best all-time at Brown.  A two time All-Ivy selection, Polley earned First Team All-Ivy and All-New England honors in 2013.

His head coach at Brown, Phil Estes:

“Emory is one of the outstanding true cover corners in the nation, following in the footsteps of AJ Cruz ’13,” said Brown head coach Phil Estes. “He’s a dominant corner, who plays the pass and run equally as well. Emory is a tremendously hard worker, who had a great year and is very deserving of this award.”
