GFL Offensive Leaders: McGovern, Joiner and Moss set the pace with one game remaining

With just one game remaining in the German Football League regular season, the offensive leaderboards have largely taken shape. Broghean McGovern of the Ravensburg Razorbacks has opened up his lead in the passing race, Kelley Joiner of the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns has pushed well beyond the 1,000-yard rushing mark, and Montigo Moss of the Dresden Monarchs sits comfortably on top of the receiving chart.

The only regular-season game still to be played pits the Berlin Rebels against the Hildesheim Invaders, meaning there is still a chance for the final rankings to change before the playoffs begin.

McGovern pulls away from the field

McGovern has taken control of the passing race for the Ravensburg Razorbacks, throwing for 3,455 yards and a league-high 39 touchdowns.

The Razorbacks quarterback has completed 220 of 380 attempts while averaging 15.7 yards per completion. His longest completion has gone for 80 yards.

Nicholas Semptimphelter of the Munich Cowboys sits second with 3,125 yards and 30 touchdowns. He has completed 257 of 396 passes, good for a 65 percent completion rate.

Drequan Harris of the Pforzheim Wilddogs is third with 2,860 yards and 33 touchdowns against 11 interceptions, while Rocky Lombardi has helped power the Dresden Monarchs with 2,614 yards and 27 touchdowns. Lombardi has completed 69 percent of his passes and thrown just seven interceptions.

Ryon Thomas of the Braunschweig Lions rounds out the top five with 2,609 yards and 20 touchdowns while completing 64 percent of his attempts.

Joiner keeps piling up yards

No running back in the league has been able to match Joiner’s production for the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns.

Joiner has rushed for 1,138 yards on just 112 carries, averaging 10.2 yards per attempt while scoring 13 touchdowns. His longest run has covered 80 yards.

Nebechi Abana of the Regensburg Phoenix has climbed into second with 993 yards and 10 touchdowns on 190 carries.

Thomas has given the Braunschweig Lions plenty of production on the ground as well as through the air, rushing for 909 yards and nine touchdowns on 182 carries.

Chrisman-Kyei of the Potsdam Royals sits fourth with 754 yards on only 89 attempts, an average of 8.5 yards per carry, while Harris gives the Pforzheim Wilddogs another name among the league leaders. The quarterback has rushed for 749 yards and 10 touchdowns on 114 attempts.

Moss takes command of receiving race

Moss has separated himself at the top of the receiving standings for the Dresden Monarchs, hauling in 79 passes for 1,464 yards and a league-leading 19 touchdowns. He is averaging 18.5 yards per reception.

Maximilian-McLeod of the Potsdam Royals has surged into second with 68 catches for 1,156 yards and 17 touchdowns while averaging 17 yards per reception.

Gabriel Boccella continues his huge season for the Munich Cowboys with 66 catches for 1,088 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Peter Anderson of the Braunschweig Lions has moved past the 1,000-yard mark with 77 receptions for 1,030 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Joshua Youngblood of the Saarland Hurricanes completes the top five with 70 catches for 1,028 yards and eight touchdowns.

With only the Berlin Rebels and Hildesheim Invaders left to finish their regular-season schedules, McGovern, Joiner and Moss have established the numbers everyone else is chasing. The final game could still produce movement in the standings, but the three have put themselves in commanding positions atop their respective offensive categories.
