Hungary: Fehervar Enthroners sign Jaime Hill as new head coach

The Hungarian Football League’s reigning champions, the Fehervar Enthroners, have signed Jaime Hill as their new head coach.

Hill replaces Jim Ward.

A San Diego native, Jaime (pronounced High-may) Hill joins the Enthroners after two seasons as head coach of the Sao Paolo Storm in Brazil’s top league. He had spent four years as defensive coordinator of the Simon Fraser University Clansmen (NCAA Div. II). Prior to that he had spent two seasons as defensive coordinator with Portland State University, which competes in the NCAA Division 1 Big Sky Conference. Hill was also previously defensive coordinator for Brigham Young University from 2006-10 and at Humboldt State (2002-03).

Hill brings professional football experience as well, having worked in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders (secondary, 2003-04), and the Ottawa Renegades (secondary/co-defensive coordinator, 2004-06), in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers (secondary, 1997-99), and in the XFL with the San Francisco Demons (secondary, 2000-01).

Hill is excited for this new opportunity:

“Coming to Europe and especially Hungary, is a great opportunity for me, as well as those who I come in contact with. I’ve been Blessed with a unique set of experiences, from this wonderful game of football. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences to those wanting and willing to learn.

“Once I was contacted by the Enthroners, and had an opportunity to do my due diligence, it was an easy decision. The infrastructure they have in place, from the management team, to the workplace and facilities, is unmatched in the region. Having won a recent championship, proves they have the right mindset willingness to work in order to be successful. My job is to continue to build upon the foundation, and to stimulate growth.”
