IFAF 2019 Women’s European Championships: Austria announces final roster

Team Austria heads into the IFAF 2019 Women’s European Championship with a legacy to fulfill.

The Austrian Men’s National Team captured silver at the 2018 Men’s European Championships, the Under 19 team won the 2019 IFAF U19 European Championships and the Austrian Ladies Flag team are the current reigning European Champions.

Can the Austrians pull off a similar feat in the IFAF 2019 Women’s European Championships?

Austria finished fourth in the 2015 tournament.

Having worked hard to secure funding to make the trip to Leeds, Coach Cameron Frickey’s squad sees a number of new talents integrated with veterans of the roster they fielded in 2015, as AFBÖ (Austrian Federation of American Football) looked to further develop the Women’s National Program through participation in international competitions.

Shared via Football.at, coach Frickey has put together a squad with a wealth of talent, especially from the Vienna Vikings and Salzburg Ducks – the two teams that contested the most recent Austrian National Championship.
