Italy: Milano Seamen sign Mizzo DB Anthony Sherrils

The defending Italian champions, the Milano Seamen, Europe #9, have further strengthened their secondary with the signing of defensive back Anthony Sherrils from the University of Missouri (NCAA Div. I, FBS).

The 6’0″, 200 b Sherrils from Kansas City, Missouri, played four years at the University of Missouri where he recorded 198 tackles while playing in a total of 49 games for the Tigers. He has been clocked at 4.36 in the 40 yard dash which will make life for opposing receivers tough.

The Draft Analyst was high on Sherrils:

“Underrated safety best making plays up the field. Instinctive, effectively diagnoses plays and takes proper angles to the action. Gives effort against the run, wraps up tackling and brings opponents down in the open field. Tracks the pass in the air and possesses good hands for the interception. Terrific on special teams and hustles down on coverage units to make tackles.”

In high school at Hogan Prep, he was a standout athlete in the state of Missouri’s class of 2013, rated by Rivals.com as the eighth-best recruit in the state and the No. 65 athlete in the nation. Playing both ways as a senior in 2012, he rushed for 1,591 yards and 19 touchdowns while making 35 tackles and two interception.
