Italy’s Milano Rhinos sign Georgia Southern star QB Kevin Ellison

The Milano Rhinos, Italian champions in 2016 and finalists in 2017, have signed QB Kevin Ellison from Georgia Southern University (NCAA Div I FBS).

The 6′, 185 lb, 24 year old native of Cornelia, Georgia, was a three-year starter for the Eagles, throwing for 3,225 yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for 3,372 yards  and 35 touchdowns. In 2014-15, he was one of only four FBS quarterbacks to run and pass for over 1,000 yards each.

Ellison is excited for the opportunity:

“The president of the Rhinos contacted me directly and once I understood the opportunity I signed. I am really excited about playing with the Rhinos in Italy and can’t wait to get there.”

One of his most notable performances among many spectacular during Ellison’s college career includes leading Georgia Southern to a monumental win over Florida as a freshman. He ran for 118 yards and two scores at “The Swamp” earning much praise nationally for his performance in the upset win.

Other top moments for Ellison include a pair of sophomore performances that earned him Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week (at Georgia Tech & at South Alabama). In his junior season, he led the Eagles past Bowling Green in the GoDaddy Bowl, rushing for 70 yards.
