Japan: Elecom Kobe Finies sign quarterback Xaevier Bullock for X League stretch run

The Elecom Kobe Finies, currently third in Japan’s X League Premier with a 3-1 record, have signed quarterback Xaevier Bullock for the remainder of the 2026 season as they prepare for the league’s August 30 restart.

Bullock will be replacing David Pindell who left the game against the Nojima Sagamihara Rise, the final game before the summer break, for an undisclosed reason after having thrown for just 11 yards. Elecom lost that game 20-7.

Bullock brings championship pedigree

Bullock arrives in Japan after helping guide the Potsdam Royals to the top of the German Football League. The dual-threat quarterback has once again been one of the league’s top offensive players in 2026, throwing for 1,947 yards and 28 touchdowns while adding 372 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

The move gives the Finies an experienced quarterback for the stretch run as they look to build on their strong start and challenge for the X League Premier title.

MVP resumes international career

Bullock first joined the Royals midway through the 2025 season, initially sharing quarterback duties before taking over as the starter. His steady play helped lead Potsdam to the GFL Bowl, where he delivered one of the biggest performances of his career.

Against the Dresden Monarchs, Bullock threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns as the Royals rallied from a 23-16 deficit to claim a 33-23 victory. His dominant second-half performance earned him the game’s Most Valuable Player award.

Before arriving in Potsdam, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound quarterback from Fayetteville, North Carolina starred for the Allgäu Comets during the 2024 GFL season, passing for 3,820 yards and 48 touchdowns.

New challenge awaits

Bullock developed at Lake Erie College, where he appeared in 26 games and totaled 2,337 passing yards while adding another 580 yards rushing.

Now, the talented quarterback takes the next step in his international career with the Elecom Kobe Finies, who will look to capitalize on his playmaking ability as they chase a championship during the second half of the X League Premier season.
