LIVESTREAM AFLE: Paris Lights @ Alpine Rams, June 20, 18:00 CET (6 pm, 12 noon ET)

The American Football League Europe schedule brings together the Alpine Rams (1-2) and Paris Lights (1-2) this weekend in a matchup that could have a major impact on the middle of the standings as both teams look to bounce back from difficult losses.

Neither side comes into the game with much momentum. The Rams were beaten 47-20 by the Vienna Vikings, while the Lights were shut out 35-0 by Rhein Fire. That makes this Week 5 meeting an important opportunity for one team to get back on track.

Rams looking for answers

The Alpine Rams showed flashes of offensive potential against Vienna, but spent most of the night trying to keep pace with one of the league’s top teams.

Quarterback Seth Morgan threw touchdown passes to Ahmed Charfi and Jared Scott, while Kevin Kaya and Lucas Laroche also contributed offensively. Even in defeat, the Rams continued to battle until the final whistle and managed to put points on the board late.

Defensively, Oluwaferanmi Okunlola delivered a standout performance with 17 tackles, while DeMarco Artis added a sack and a forced fumble.

The challenge now is turning those individual performances into a complete four-quarter effort.

Lights hoping for healthy return

The biggest storyline for the Paris Lights centers around quarterback Evan Hillock.

Hillock suffered a hand injury in last week’s loss to Rhein Fire, and his status could have a major impact on this game. Before the injury, the Lights had shown the ability to move the ball effectively throughout the season.

Players such as Marouane Dardour, Kaylon Geiger Sr., and Jonathan Scott all played key roles in the game against Rhein Fire, but the offense never found a consistent rhythm after Hillock left the field.

Opportunity awaits

With both teams sitting at 1-2, this feels like one of the more important early-season games on the AFLE schedule.

The Rams will try to use home-field advantage to build momentum after a tough loss, while the Lights are searching for a response after being shut out for the first time this season.

For both clubs, a victory would keep them firmly in the playoff conversation. A loss would make the road ahead much more difficult.
