The AFC Vienna Vikings (0-0) open the 2025 Austrian Football League season at home facing their oldest rival, the Swarco Raiders (0-0) Saturday, March 22 at  Footballzentrum Ravelin Wien in Vienna.

The Vikings reached the Austrian Bowl in 2024 following a 9-1 regular seasonbut were beaten by the Prague Black Panthers 20-14. For Swarco, the 2024 season was a disappointment after finishing with a 4-6 record.

In the only meeting between the two in 2024, Vienna came out on top 42-25.

Former Telfs Patriots quarterback Aaron Ellis is the Vienna quarterback this year, while the Raiders have an Austrian, Stefan Maiacher.
