The Limburg Shotguns (2-2) will travel to Izegem, Belgium to face the Kasteel Nitro’s (1-4) in a crucial matchup for both teams at Izegem Home Field on Saturday, May 6.

This is the second meeting of the year between these two teams. Limburg took the first one easily, 61-0.

The Nitro’s won their first game of the season, beating the Ghent Gators 22-0 after opening the year losing to the Amsterdam Crusaders 30-12 and Limburg. They lost 38-0 to the Brussels Black Angels before getting that first win. They suffered their fourth loss, this time to the Crusaders 38-0.

For the Shotguns, this has been an up and down year. After opening the season with that lopsided win over the Nitro’s, they were beaten by Amsterdam 47-12 and then edged 28-21 by Brussels. They rebounded with a 53-0 victory over Ghent.

The Nitro’s will depend on running back David Zabrodin and on defense they are expecting a good game from linebacker Nick Vanhee. Limburg has added quarterback Raleigh Yeldell to the lineup to replace the injured Jabari Harris, and he will no doubt cause problems for the Kasteel defense. The veteran can be as dangerous on his feet as through the air.
