The undefeated Kuopio Steelers host the winless Kotka Eagles in this Maple League matchup. The Steelers are determined to keep their win streak alive on their march for a third straight title.

The Steelers defense leads the league with 21 sacks in six games. Linebacker Colby Campbell, along with returning Steelers defenders Ikeem Allen (Miami OH), Jani Lindqvist, Roni Laine, and Iro Pekkarinen make for a tough unit to score against. 

Offensively, running back Leanthony Reasnover leads the way for the Steelers rushing for 136 yards a game. Spelling Reasnover is veteran Tuuka Lehtonen chipping in over 63 yards a yard in his own right as the Maple League’s best rushing attack averages over 200 yards a game on the ground. When they do pass, the savvy veteran Joey Bradley will target Ville Lindsten, Isaac Marshall, and Hannes Harju. 

Kotka’s new quarterback Darrien Boone had a lackluster debut last week totaling 222 yards. Expect Boone to play better as former Central Michigan (NCAA DI) and Austin Peay division one talent is a good athlete who is building chemistry with his new team. Expect him to target Peter Anderson early and often as he’s been the go-to guy for Kotka all season. 

Defensively, Kotka will hope to compete against a talented Steelers offense. Expect veteran Jamarcus Henderson to play well from his defensive end position.
