LIVESTREAM Finland: Porvoo Butchers @ UNC Crusaders August 12th, 17:30 CET, (5:30 pm, 11:30 am ET)

The Porvoo Butchers (3-6) will visit the UNC Crusaders (2-8) in this week’s Friday night matchup as Finland’s Maple League heads into the home stretch. The Butchers are coming off of a narrow defeat while the home team Crusaders have momentum on their side after winning their second game of the season last week.

The Porvoo Butchers now look like they will not be making the playoffs this season as the Roosters now have tight control over the fourth seed. On a positive note, quarterback Brandon Gwinner has been playing well this season. The dual-threat passer threw for three touchdowns and 215 yards last week while rushing for another 97 yards and a score on the ground. Gwinner led the Butchers on a fantastic drive tying the game with under two minutes to go against the Roosters last week, only to see Helsinki score with just second remaining. Expect him to get the ball to former Tennessee State (NCAA DI FCS) running back Seth Rowland and veteran Mikko Seppanen often. This Porvoo offense should put up big numbers against a weak UNC defense tonight.

Defensively, veteran Timi Nuikka, Anthony Figueroa, and the rest of the Butchers will look to take advantage of a sloppy UNC offense and create turnovers.

Quarterback Shay Netter played his best game of the season last week throwing for 266 yards and four touchdowns. Expect the Crusaders to target brothers Miles and Nolan Corpening as the two can impact the game in all three phases. The Corpening twins are an electric duo as Nolan currently sits seventh in the league with 373 receiving yards, while Miles leads the league with 41 solo tackles. Truely talented twins, Nolan and Miles both average 74 all purpose yards per game. Veteran Cedric Johnson also gives UNC an experienced and reliable option in the passing game.
