The Frankfurt Universe (3-0) take their show on the road again this weekend when they  travel to Ingolstadt to face the Ingolstadt Dukes (0-2) in fourth round action in the German Football League.

Ingolstadt lost 24-0 to the powerful Schwabisch Hall Unicorns to open their 2019 season, holding the Unicorns to 299 yards of offense. They then dropped a disappointing 37-30 loss to the Stuttgart Scorpions.

Anthony Gardner who had completed 11 of 23 passes for only 82 yards in the first game had a complete turnaround throwing for 327 ayrds and four touchdowns in the loss to Stuttgart.  He was also his team’s leading rusher with 46 yards on the ground. Phillip Ponanderhas has rushed for 82 yards in the two games.

Frankfurt has opened the 2019 with three wins, getting by the Munich Cowboys last week 24-17, after beating the Allgau Comets 20-0 in their opening game  and then downing the Marburg Mercenaries 20-14 a couple of weeks ago.

For Frankfurt, Steve Cluley has thrown for 701 yards and six touchdowns with Sebastian Sagne (234 yds, 5 TDs), Antony Brooks (183 yds) and George Robinson (131 yds), as his leading targets. Running back Oscar Nevermann from Sweden has a total of 139 yards rushing in the three games.

Gardner seems to be finding a rhythm and could be the difference maker in this game.
