Monarchs chasing another milestone

The Monarchs have been one of the GFL’s most complete teams throughout the season, combining an explosive offense with one of the league’s toughest defenses.

A victory on Saturday would give Dresden its ninth straight win and officially secure a playoff spot while keeping the club on course for the North Division title and home-field advantage.

Panther gaining momentum

The Panther head to Dresden coming off a 31-22 victory over the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes, a result that solidified fourth place in the North Division standings.

Much of the recent optimism has centered around quarterback Dawson Herl, whose arrival has given the offense a noticeable lift. Along with additions Emil Hagberg, Jasper Lindqvist and Alonso Muñoz, the new-look Düsseldorf roster has shown signs of becoming a more dangerous team heading into the second half of the season.

The visitors know another upset would significantly strengthen their playoff position while proving they can compete with one of the league’s elite teams.

Second meeting brings new challenge

The teams first met in Week 2, when the Monarchs pulled away for a 45-20 victory after a competitive first half.

Both teams believe they are stronger now than they were in May. Dresden has continued its unbeaten march through the schedule, while the Panther have made significant changes under center and across the roster.

For Düsseldorf, controlling turnovers and sustaining long drives will be essential if it hopes to keep pace with one of the league’s highest-scoring offenses.
