LIVESTREAM Germany PPV: Pforzheim Wilddogs @ Allgäu Comets, June 27, 17:00 CET (5 pm, 11 am ET)

The German Football League schedule offers little time to recover as the Allgäu Comets (1-4) host the Pforzheim Wilddogs (5-1) just one week after their meeting in Pforzheim. The Wilddogs rolled to a 61-13 victory in the first matchup, but Allgäu now has the chance to respond immediately in front of its home fans at Illerstadion. With temperatures expected to climb well above 35 degrees Celsius, kickoff has been pushed back to 5:00 p.m. to help players cope with the extreme heat.

Searching for a response

The Comets know they need a much stronger performance than the one they delivered last weekend. Sitting seventh in the GFL South, every game is becoming increasingly important as the battle to avoid relegation intensifies.

Playing at home should provide an emotional lift, but cutting down mistakes will be equally important. The Comets will also have to overcome personnel issues after several injuries in the first meeting.

Wilddogs eye another statement

The Wilddogs arrive in Kempten firmly established in second place in the GFL South after one of their most complete performances of the season. Their offense has already produced 213 points, making them one of the league’s most productive units.

Head coach Michael Lang isn’t expecting an easy afternoon despite last week’s convincing win.

“We take every game seriously and stay fully focused,” Lang said. “The team knows what is at stake. We have to maintain our tempo, continue playing at a high level and keep eliminating our mistakes.”

The visitors also expect to have a deeper roster available this week, including the return of running back Bryan Yankson, giving them another option in the running game.

Heat could become the biggest opponent

Saturday’s weather may influence the game as much as the teams themselves. With temperatures forecast above 35 degrees, depth, conditioning and disciplined rotation will be critical over four quarters.

While the Wilddogs are chasing another victory to strengthen their playoff position, the Comets are desperate to prove last week’s lopsided defeat was not an accurate reflection of what they can do. That urgency, combined with home-field advantage and extreme conditions, could make this rematch far more competitive than the first meeting.
