LIVESTREAM Germany PPV: Saarland Hurricanes @ Ingolstadt Dukes, Aug. 12, 18:30 CET (6:30 pm, 12:30 pm EDT)

The Saarland Hurricanes (5-3) will travel to ESV-Stadion in Ingolstadt to face off against the Ingolstadt Dukes (4-4) for a crucial late-season German Football League South matchup.

Coming off of a 38-20 victory against Marburg, the Hurricanes are in third place in the GFL South with a 5-3 record. They will have to fight for that third spot, as they will be going to Ingolstadt to face the Dukes who sit right below them in fourth place with a 4-4 record.

Saarland has been one of the better offensive teams in the GFL this season. A big reason for it is quarterback Robert Rowell. Through his seven games played, Rowell is ranked fourth in the GFL in both passing yards per game (266.6) and passing touchdowns (22). Rowell’s dual threat ability makes Saarland’s offense one of the most dangerous in the entire league.

One thing that may get Saarland in trouble on Saturday is their defense. While they have scored a lot of points, they have also given up almost as many. The Hurricanes currently sit with the third most points given up per game at 34.1.

On the other side, Ingolstadt, who lost to Saarland earlier in the season, has a chance to get back at the Hurricanes on their home turf.  After losing 46-30, the Dukes still played a great game offensively.

In order to get the job done on Saturday, quarterback Matthew Weimer will need to do his best to expose the Hurricanes defense. Saarland has given up the most passing yards per game in the GFL this season with 265.9.

As the GFL season begins to come to a close, teams will start to break away from the pack and show who is the true contender for the 2023 playoffs. Ingolstadt vs Saarland will be a big matchup to lookout for this weekend.
