LIVESTREAM GFL Semifinal: Pforzheim Wilddogs @ Dresden Monarchs, Sept. 19, 16:00 CET (4 pm, 10 am ET)
The unbeaten Dresden Monarchs (13-0) host the Pforzheim Wilddogs (9-4) Saturday at Heinz Steyer Stadium in Dresden, with the winner moving on to the German Football League championship game.
For the Monarchs, that would mean playing for the title in their own city at Rudolf Harbig Stadium on October 3. For the Wilddogs, simply reaching the semifinals marks the deepest playoff run in their young GFL history.
Dresden comes out swinging
Dresden left little doubt in its quarterfinal, burying the Munich Cowboys 61-14 after exploding for 21 points in the first quarter and another 34 in the second.
Quarterback Rocky Lombardi threw three touchdown passes and broke loose for a 44-yard score, while Casey Thompson added two touchdown passes. The Monarchs defense piled on the pressure with seven sacks and four takeaways as Munich struggled to stay on the field.
That performance continued an unbeaten season for head coach Greg Seamon’s team, but he expects a much different fight Saturday.

Wilddogs lean on defense
Pforzheim punched its semifinal ticket with a 21-8 win over the Hildesheim Invaders, relying on a defense that allowed only 164 points during the regular season.
Drequan Harris remains the centerpiece of the offense. In the quarterfinal, the quarterback did much of his damage with his legs, carrying 23 times for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
AJ Coons gives Harris another weapon through the air after catching five passes for 85 yards against Hildesheim.
The Wilddogs also struck on special teams when Jeremy Conley blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone.
Familiar opponents meet again
These teams know each other from almost exactly a year ago. Dresden knocked Pforzheim out of the 2025 playoffs with a 41-22 quarterfinal victory.
The Wilddogs return with many of the same pieces, including Harris, but this time they arrive as one of the final four teams standing.
The biggest challenge will be slowing Lombardi and receiver Montigo Moss while handling an offense that just hung 61 points on Munich.
Dresden has gone unbeaten and has a championship game in its own backyard waiting if it wins. Pforzheim has already pushed farther than ever before.
Now the Wilddogs get a chance to see just how much farther they can go.
