LIVESTREAM Spain: Barbera Rookies @ Badalona Dracs, April 10, 11:30 CET, (5:30 AM ET, 11:30 AM CET)

The Badalona Dracs (6-1) will host the neighboring Barbera Rookies (5-1) in this highly anticipated rematch. The Rookies beat the Badalona 35-20 earlier in the season as the Rookies defense wreaked havoc, creating turnovers and big plays. Now the Dracs are aiming to prove that it was an aberration and take back first place in the standings.

The Dracs are eager to redeem themselves this time around as the post-season looms. The defending champions will be quarterbacked by veteran Sergi Gonzalo. Expect the six-time national champion passer to target receiver Raul Cernuada and get his talented running back Edu Morlans involved early and often. Morlan’s currently sits third in the league with 385 yards and five touchdowns rushing.

Defensively the Dracs have added veteran defensive lineman Felix Ntwa. The physical Austrian defender will look to make a difference in the tranches against an explosive Rookies team. The Dracs are coming off of a win last week defeating the Mallorca Voltors 37-21 at home.

The Rookies have had a successful season up to this point, after defeating the Dracs and suffering only one loss. This week quarterback Álex Pachecho will be under center for the second straight game as Barbera aims to take the momentum of its season into the fast-approaching playoffs. One of the key players for the Rookies is defensive back Jordi Brugnani. Brugnani, who has five interceptions this season, faces his former team today. Offensively, receiver Brayan Larese and Victor Vega are two players to keep an eye on.  Larese has been one of Barbera’s most exciting players, showing good speed, hands, and toughness.

All eyes will be on this game in Spain as the winner will take sole possession of first place with only two games remaining in the regular season.
