New leader atop German stats leaderboard

With the German Football League regular season almost over  and teams battling for playoff berths, the offensive stats leaders have seen one major change.

After 17 weeks of play in the 19 week GFL season, there is a new leader in the receiving yards category as Dresden Monarch’s WR Kevonn Mabon has taken over first place. Chris McClendon of the Bruanschweig New Yorker Lions remains atop the rushing leaderboard while Marburg Mercenries quarterback Jake Sullivan continues to top the GFL in overall passing yardage and average yards per game.

What’s notable is that the two unbeaten teams in the league – the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns and Braunschweig New Yorker Lions – are not dominating the offensive stats.

The Marburg Mercenaries  still top the list with three players while the Hildesheim Invaders, Dresden Monarchs, Frankfurt Universe and Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns have two apiece. Behind them with one player are the Allgäu Comets, Braunschweig New Yorker Lions, Potsdam Royals and Munich Cowboys.Teams without any players include the Cologne Crocodiles, Stuttgart Scorpions, Ingolstadt Dukes, Kiel Baltic HurricanesKirchdorf Wildcats, Berlin Rebels and Dusseldorf Panther.

Gennadiy Adams of the Potsdam Royals also had a monster game rushing for 185 yards and 3 TDs in Potsdam’s 29-0 win over Kiel. He remains 2nd with his 1,122 yards and league-best 14 rushing TDs.  Marburg Mercenaries RB Triston McCathern is the 3rd leading rusher in the GFL with 851 yards while Comets running back Lennies McFerren has dropped to 4th with 794. Hildesheim Invaders WR Nathaniel Morris is also hurt but is still the 3rd leading receiver in the GFL with 1,055 yards and 10 TDs. Unicorns receiver, Nate Robitaille has held onto 4th and has 1,053 yards and 14 TDs. Marburg Mercenaries WR Hendrik Schwarz stays in 5th with his 1,052 yards.
