Poland: Wroclaw Panthers roll past Rebels to build momentum for playoffs

The Wroclaw Panthers (6-2) made a strong statement ahead of the postseason, defeating the Silesia Rebels (6-2) 34-14 on the road in the Polish Football League behind another outstanding performance from quarterback Re-Al Mitchell.

After falling behind briefly in the opening quarter, the Panthers took control and never looked back, pulling away with 28 unanswered points before a late score by the home team.

Mitchell leads the way

Mitchell opened the scoring finding the end zone from 10 yards out before the Rebels answered with Jakub Kapuściński scoring on a 45-yard touchdown run. Ryan Wakeling booted the extra point.

The Panthers quickly regained the lead when Mitchell connected with Hubert Frey on an 11-yard touchdown pass. The duo struck again in the second quarter on a 33-yard scoring play, with Mitchell adding the two-point conversion himself before breaking loose for a 40-yard touchdown run to stretch the lead to 26-7 at halftime.

Strong finish

The visitors continued to dominate after the break. Krystian Stępczak scored on a four-yard touchdown run before converting the two-point attempt to push the lead to 34-7.

The Rebels managed one final score late in the fourth quarter when Jeremiah Tucker punched in a one-yard touchdown, and Wakeling added the extra point.

Mitchell was once again the catalyst for the Wroclaw offense, producing touchdowns both through the air and on the ground as the Panthers sent a clear message heading into the playoffs with an impressive road victory.
