Spain’s LNFA kicks off landmark 32nd season with title chase wide open

Spain’s top American football league is back in action as the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano (LNFA) launches its 32nd season this weekend, featuring a ten-team battle for supremacy culminating in the Spanish Bowl this May.

Three-time champs face target on their back
The LG OLED Black Demons Las Rozas enter the season as the clear team to beat, having captured the last three LNFA titles (2023, 2024, 2025). Their recent dominance makes them the obvious favorite, but the league is packed with historic programs eager to reclaim glory. The Badalona Dracs, who hold a record 11 national titles (most recently in 2021), and the Osos Rivas, champions in 2022, headline a group of serious contenders. Also in the mix are the six-time champion L’Hospitalet Pioners and the Terrassa Reds, who reached the semifinals last year. Adding to the intrigue is the return of the Valencia Firebats, a four-time champion who earned promotion back to the top flight by winning the LNFA 2 title in 2025.

Familiar conference format returns
The league retains its two-conference structure for the regular season.
