Stuttgart Scorpions add Canadian QB Brandon Reaume

The German Football League’s Stuttgart Scorpions have signed Canadian quarterback Brandon Reaume for the 2020 season.

The 6′, 190 pound, 24-year-old Reaume, a native of Windsor, Ontario, led the Windsor AKO Fratmen to the Candian Junior Football League championship game, the Canadian Bowl, in 2017. This was the team’s first appearance in the title game in 20 years. Reaume set new team records with a 67.6% completion percentage, 21 touchdown passes in eight regular-season games and a QB efficiency rating of 151.2 in the regular season tops in the entire league. This earned him the Gino Fracas Football Award awarded to the best football player in the Windsor/Essex region.

Reaume then moved to the University of Windsor, where he played safety.

“I’ve always played QB, but I was looking for a new challenge and saw the chance to really get to know the defensive side of football. So I see it as adding another aspect to my game as a QB.”

Reaume started playing football at his local high school, Vincent Massey Secondary School in Windsor where he was named First Team All-City QB and won the Wilson Conference City Championship in his senior year. He also played for Essex County Ravens (Ontario Provincial Football League) for three years.

The Scorpions had originally signed Lukas O’Connor as its quarterback but pressing family issues forced him to back away.

Stuttgart head coach Martin Hanselmann:

“Of course we had to go looking again and saw Brandon’s performance. He received a very good reference from a trusted colleague from the USA. We then took a close look at it and had the impression that he would suit us the best. I have spoken to him several times. He comes across as very bright, knowledgable and down to earth. I am very happy that Brandon will be leading our team.”
