Austria: ELF Veteran WR Mario Flores joins the Danube Dragons

The Danube Dragons of the Austrian Football League have signed Spanish talent Mario Flores. Flores joins countrymen and longtime teammate Daniel Docal who is currently serving as the team’s defensive coordinator.

Head coach Fred Armstong on bringing in veteran Flores:

“Mario has played two seasons with Barcelona in the ELF as Zach Edwards recommended him as a solid Wr who will do great in the AFL this season”

Flores played the last two seasons in Spain for the Barcelona Dragons of the European League of Football putting up 50 catches for 675 yards and six touchdowns in 21 games. Prior to that, Flores suited up for two teams in Germany, the Hildesheim Invaders and the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns where he won a German Bowl title in 2017.

During the offseasons in Germany, Flores played for his hometown Osos Rivas where he won team MVP in 2018. Flores also played in The Spring League in the US alongside long-time teammate from Spain and Germany, Daniel Docal.

Flores looks to be a huge part of the Dragon’s offense as the experienced team will look to get the proven pass catcher the ball early and often throughout the season as they hope to defend the Austrian Bowl title in 2023.
